Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia in Lego

31 January, 2008 at 7:46 pm (lego, model)

From what I can garner, this is from an exhibition of World Heritage sites that is taking place in Japan. There’s a small site here. And, finally, Wow.

Kanye’s Star Wars Tour Poster

30 January, 2008 at 4:46 pm (music, star wars)

Not content with creating one of the best albums, a few wonderful singles and the best teddy-related single artwork of 2007, Kanye’s back at it again making what is bound to be the best tour poster featuring Star Wars of 2008. Is there nothing this man can’t do? *

It’s pretty damn good looking tour too, with Rihanna, N*E*R*D and Lupe Fiasco. link (via Pitchfork)

*Things Kanye West can’t do probably include:

  • Stone masonry
  • Cabinet making
  • Needlecraft
  • Telling you nuthin’
  • Plastic surgery

The Count strikes again, this time with a wonderful little Minotaur. The legs alone are a nifty bit of design work.

Alan Moore on Truth

22 January, 2008 at 2:29 pm (alan moore, quote)

“Truth is a well-known pathological liar. It invariably turns out to be Fiction wearing a fancy frock.. Self-proclaimed Fiction, on the other hand, is entirely honest. You can tell this, because it comes right out and says, “I’m a Liar,” right there on the dust jacket.”

Steam Wars Falcon of the Millenium

22 January, 2008 at 9:12 am (lego, star wars, steampunk)

For those that aren’t aware, From Bricks to Bothans are having a Star Wars / Steampunk competition at the moment. There have been many great entries, but I think my favourite so far is this amazing Falcon of the Millenium, which has some rather extensive information to go with it on the Reasonably Clever webpage. Lego Mosaic: Light Red Over Black by Mark Rothko

17 January, 2008 at 9:31 pm (art, flickr, image, lego, uk, us)

I’ve been playing with a couple of Lego Mosaic kits I bought cheap after Christmas, and I was quite chuffed with this. The original is in the Tate Gallery and is one of my favourite works of art.

Any other suggestions as to art that would work well in Lego Mosaic form gratefully received!

Tom Cruise: Part-time actor, full-time lunatic

Woah there cowboy. It’s a big surprise to me that this man’s career is relatively intact. “Either you’re on board, or you’re not on board.” Well, Tom, I’m not on board.

Whether it’s street art with a message you agree with is another matter, the creator of this has a point. (via Mixx)
