We went to see Sonic Youth on Thursday at the Roundhouse in Camden. They were playing all of Daydream Nation as part of the Don’t Look Back series of concerts.
I’m not going to do a full review, but they were utterly mesmerising, helped by the fact that the Camden Roundhouse is one of my favourite venues because you can skirt around the edge of the crowd, getting great views almost everywhere.
You can see all of my pics of the night here.

I’ve seen SY twice live. The first time was in support of their ‘Washing Machine’ album around ‘96 in Boston, MA. I remember they opened with ‘Schizophrenia’ from the Sister LP, and eventually even got around to ‘Catholic Block’. Thurston was handed a different guitar for every song. They closed that night with ‘Diamond Sea’. Just a great, great live experience.
