Sleeping Angel at Highgate Cemetary
Post-Festival Pictures of Glastonbury Site
This is a beautiful shot of Banksy’s portaloo-henge.
And this is from Trash City, as far as I remember. I think it used to me more in the middle of Lost Vagueness, but my memory’s getting old and befuddled nowadays.
You can see the rest of his wonderful photos here.
Beautiful Lego Car
The detail on this car by Flickr user Lego Steven 1980 is outstanding. This is one of the best Lego car models I’ve seen.
Shell Keep
As you can imagine, making circular buildings using rectangular bricks is not the easiest thing to achieve, which makes this creation from Ben Ellermann being displayed at Brickworld a particularly clever piece of work.
The Cerne Homer Simpson and Well-Executed Marketing
I haven’t yet seen The Simpsons Movie, but I’ve been impressed with their marketing. They’ve converted a load of 7-Eleven’s into Kwik-E-Marts in the US and with much whinging from local pagans, painted a huge Homer Simpson next to the Cerne Abbas Giant:
I was even briefly mentioned on Boing Boing suggesting a puerile version from b3ta. Even those apparently evil chaps at The Pirate Bay have been getting into the act with a modified picture on their front page:
And I love the Spider-Pig trailer:
Well done Simpsons marketing people. Although I still haven’t actually seen the movie yet…
Neuschwanstein Castle in Lego
This is from the Billand Legoland park if I’m not mistaken, and it’s an wonderful creation. At a first glance it’s a little difficult to spot that it’s Legowork (to coin a term).
Lego Indiana Jones Game
I really enjoyed the Lego Star Wars games, and so the prospect of a Lego Indiana Jones game just sounds like a mini, virtual heaven. (via The Brothers Brick)
The Blues Brothers in Lego

Klocki, a great Polish Lego blog, has found a gem in the form of The Blues Brothers. I like the way misterzumbi has used the little legs to show the Aykroyd / Belushi distinction. (Link) (via Klocki)
What if you didn’t know what Garfield was saying?

Then the comic strip gets a fair bit funnier, and Jon comes across as being a lot more pathetic and scary. See this LiveJournal community for more examples. (via Mental_Floss)
Miss Librarian and the Bookworms

This is a great little vig by Brickshelf-user xueren. As Bruce from Vignette Bricks points out, the index cards are an especially nice little detail:

Disturbing Micro Sculptures
Photo Shoot Vignette

Since I look through so many Lego pictures on Flickr each day, it seems rather foolish not to blog some of my favourites. This vignette from turkguy0319 certainly fits the bill. (Link to flickr set)
Old-School Lego Computer

Old school computer made from old-school Lego. A slightly old-school feeling photo too. I’m obviously feeling nostalgic today. (Link, from the wonderfully-named Flickr user, hippitywippity)
Mistake in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Well, I’ve finished reading, and I think I’ve found a mistake. See what you think:
On p84 Hermione’s talking about the preparations she’s put in place for her parents:
‘I’ve also modified my parents’ memories so that they’re convinced they’re really called Wendell and Monica Wilkins.’
Going on to add
‘I think I’ve cast a good enough charm to keep them well and happy’
However, on p139 Ron says:
‘But I’ve never done a memory charm.’
‘Nor have I,’ said Hermione
Really?
Anyway, I really enjoyed. Probably the best of the series. I can now stop my speculation and get on with my life.
Update: JK Rowling has answered this, and many more things here.
