Dunechaser is the undisputed king of the Minifig form, and it’s this sort of work that is the reason why…
I love the fact that the Sex Pistols are having nothing to do with the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It shows exactly why they deserve to be there.
Their note (pictured here) is so much cooler than the “we are not worthy” bollocks that I’ve seen at all of the recent spate of awards ceremonies. It really shows up the fact that there’s not a band around today with the same attitude, and I really wish there was.
Well, I just got interviewed by Capital Gold. I think the DJ was trying to work out why he was interviewing a guy that took a photo of some bits of Lego then put it online. I feel he has a point.
Still, it was nice of them to be interested, and they did call me a Lego Genius, and ask me whether I wanted to work at Legoland which, frankly, I do so I’m pretty happy. I don’t think I came over as any more of a buffoon than usual, but I’d be interested to hear from anyone who actually heard it…
There are a few more people around here than usual at the moment, following a weird, but pleasant couple of days. On Tuesday night, my Dick Cheney in Lego picture got picked up by Boing Boing (I say this like there was some internet swirl of activity before someone suggested it to them, actually I suggested it myself - my ego knows no bounds). Following this a few thousand people have popped along to have a look, and lots of them have left comments, which has been really cool.
Then, last night, after an email, I got a telephone call from a San Diago News Agency, and so there’s a chance that there might be some more about this going happening at some point, but who knows?
And, this morning, the wonderful Tom from Random Acts of Reality has linked to his picture here pointing out, quite rightly, that he wouldn’t look as happy if the guy was drunk - so hello to all the people coming from that wonderful site too.
Leave me a comment if there’s anyone / anything that you think needs to be recreated in Lego (singular, no ’s’, ever) and I’ll see what I can do.
You can email me at pootling {at} gmail {dot} com, see all of my photos here, and see a really cool recreation of Sesame Street, done by Count Blockula here - it’s great.
It seemed sensible to start with Tom Reynolds of Random Acts of Reality fame, since he’s one of my favourite bloggers, his was one of the first blogs I really started to read, and I’ve seen a picture of him.
Any comments or suggestions for other people to do are more than welcome.
Can I just give some heartfelt praise to those wonderful, hard-working people at Barbelith who tirelessly work for the good of mankind discussing stuff. They’re the sort of fellas and lasses that, if you knew them, you’d invite around for tea, perhaps even sacrifice your first-born if they asked really nicely.
No reason, I just think they’re great.
